I would like to share some of my similar dreams
and wish lists as an IYCian
Certifications
Paths in IYC
Note: This is an abstract and I'm currently putting serious and sincere
efforts and readings on this topic.
As a spirited IYCian I would like to dream of an idea of having
different level of Certifications Exams for every IYCian. It can be a kind of
exam, online, written or practical camps.
There should be Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced levels of Certifications
in IYC. After some years media should start branding leaders like ‘He is an IYC
Certified Politician’. Idea is to mould each IYCian to be a valuable strategic
leader. Some initial sketch about the content of these curriculum I could think
of are.
Beginner Level: Leadership, Management Skills, Decision Making,
Analytical and Logical thinking, Basic Law Awareness, Fundamentals of
Economics. Fundamentals of Political Science, Awareness of Government Projects
for common man (Aam Admi ka Sipahi)
Intermediate Level: Advanced Political Science. Public
Administration, India History, Indian National Congress History, Overview of
World history and Economy, Economics of growth and development, Election
strategies.

thoughts (Plato,Aristotile, Marx etc) Biographical analysis of legendary
leaders (Political and non-political), Case studies on the fallen economies,
Risen economies, Reasons for economic crisis, Case studies of fallen and risen

proceedings, International Relations
* Sources for Learnings:- All the resources should be made online for
reading. Best start would be IGNOU FlexiLearn website. What a wonderful treasure of knowledge with around 40000 study material
openly available for reading and downloading
Main areas: Modules from MA Economics, Political Science, Public
Administration
Mission Developed India 2020
I would like to dream this ultimate goal being achieved with the help
of we IYCians.
Do we realize that IYC members’ network is the ever biggest chain we have in this country with around 13 Million youths deeply rooted in every nook and corner of our country and strength will again increase in the coming years. We could achieve anything and everything if we move systematically and progressively.
As Mahatma well said we should also start from our villages and we need to ensure MyPanchayat is developed by 2017. We should organize marathon workshops with similar minded organizations to realize the problems which MyPanchayat, potentials of MyPanchayat. If MyPanchayat can be developed by 2017 and we can easily achieve MyCountry developed by 2020. We should read Dr. Abdul Kalam’s ‘India 2020’ like a bible. We should target for 100% literacy in MyPanchayat. We should start creating job opportunities, look into possibilities of tapping natural resources like solar energy, rain water harvesting etc. We should help farmers to use modern scientific tools for agriculture and farming. We also need to understand more about economics as a science to know how we can march towards development. As we know this is a very vast topic which cannot be covered in 2-3 pages, the summary is we should start thinking in this direction and as well said a good start means half-done.

Setting
Short-Term and Long-Term Goals for each IYCian
As a spirited IYCian I wish to have short-term and long-term goals for
each IYCian up to the grass-root level. This should be a kind of motivation
booster for each IYCian to achieve targets.
Goals achieved should be reviewed in every 3 months. Each goal should be well measurable. Goals
should be there at national level, state level, constituency level, ward level
and even at cadre level. Office bearers should have both individual level and
team level goals. Every IYCian should have a clear visibility on the goals
he/she has to achieve in another 3 months/6 months/1 year. Goals can be simple
but should make some value addition to the society.
Some simple examples I could think of
Individual Level (Based on ward/mandal/constituency/education background)
Individual Level (Based on ward/mandal/constituency/education background)
- Study and present a paper on economic development in a community
- Present a proposal on how MyPanchayat can be self sufficient
- Assist poor and needy children in their studies
- Plant 100 trees in your panchayat
- Enroll 100 youths to IYC
- Setting up reading room and reading club
- Setting up an oratory club
- Fighting for proper roads, internet availability
- Setting up a water purification plant, biogas plant, bus stop, water harvesting plant, playground etc
Indian Youth Congress Mentors (IYCM)
As a
studious IYCian I wish to learn from our past generations. We should form a
platform of great mentors who can guide and support young IYCians. This should
consists of economists, retired professors, management experts etc. They can
also be very helpful in designing the curriculum for different learning paths
in IYC and also they can guide IYCians to achieve their goals. For every
Panchayat we should have a group of mentors whom IYCians can contact for
guidance and advice. I believe we can never compromise on focus and knowledge
these mentors can bring.
Anytime Membership
As an IYCian
I wish to have IYC membership open all time. We should be able to submit all
the scanned documents online and get a pre-membership and this pre-membership
should get converted to actual membership when he/she starts actively
participating in weekly meetings or activities. This way we can attract more
young dynamic friends to IYC. I wish this is much needed because as of now we
are able to conduct membership drive only once in a year or once in 2
years. I ‘m afraid that a generation may
cross their age limit during this time and they may not get this golden
opportunity to be a part of IYC.
IYC public forum for regular debates on India
Development
“INC was then a platform where all the different
minded people can share their thoughts and join their hands for the ultimate goal – FREEDOM” – Pranab Mukherjee
in ‘The Congress and making of India Nation
As a
passionate IYCian I wish to have a politicaly unbiased public forum/platform
under the leadership of IYC where all people irrespective of the political creed
can come and debate on the development topics and current affairs. Eminent
speakers, economic experts and other political party leaders should be invited
on a regular basis to organize politically unbiased workshops and symposiums.
All these debates should be recorded and made available for further hearing.
This should gradually get a credibility like TED (www.ted.com)
or may be more than that.
Moot Parliament Competitions
As a spirited IYCian I wish to participate in regular Moot Parliament
competitions in ward level/constituency
level/state level and National level. This will sharpen our thoughts and words
and get more visibility on parliamentary proceedings and constitution. This
will help us in molding IYCians to be valuable and disciplined Parliamentarians.
IYCian to be a next door boy/girl
As a energetic IYCian I wish to see every IYCian to be a great helping
hand to common man. Still common man is unaware of many government procedures
project, MGNREGA, grants, self-employement programs available to help people
from poverty. People believe these programs are unreachable. All IYCians should
be well educated about these projects
and should be approachable to all people irrespective of the political
ideologies.
IYC blood donor database
As a socially committed IYCian I wish to have a nationalized blood
donor database which is easily accessible across the country. This should get a
national level credibility and there should be any case of unavailability of
blood reported in MyPanchayat. SMS alerts to be implemented so that every
IYCian gets the request and can act on time.
